To provide emerging and established artists a serene, sylvan environment for creative exploration that is inspired by living in nature and is reflected in the art practice.
Our Goal To support committed artists whose work corresponds with nature and is connected to place.
Set in the midst of 160 acres of mixed forest in northern Minnesota’s lake country the Belle Thalia Residency offers a yurt dwelling, limited studio space, and outdoor clearings for work.
The studio of sculptor Al Belleveau uses many salvaged materials which suggest a certain lifestyle that is independent, sustainable and closely connected to the landscape.
Because of the resident artist’s profound connection to the surrounding environment , the hope is that the residency program will foster work inspired by the site.
