ARTIST’S STORY:
These baskets are made by mothers and grandmothers involved in the Hope Again Women's Project in Rakai, Uganda. Throughout each week, the women of the cooperative come together to weave these beautiful, hand-dyed grass baskets. These sturdy, well-made, beautiful baskets are inspiring and are a wonderful reflection of the women who make them. Income received from the purchase of their baskets empowers each member of the community to obtain medical care to support their own children as well as additional children in their community.
