The Boys and Girls Club of the Leech Lake Area seeks to inspire and enable local youth on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.
Our clubs serves more than 950 members ages 6-18 after school and during the summer. We serve four Northern Minnesota communities on the Leech Lake Indian Reservation - Cass Lake, Onigum, Walker, and Deer River.
Based on the interests and needs of the youth we serve, our committed staff and volunteers plan daily activities under five core areas of programming grounded in Anishinaabe values:
• Health & Life Skills
• Character & Leadership
• The Arts
• Sports, Recreation & Fitness
• Education & Career
Our programs are based on a youth development strategy that builds self-confidence and self-esteem as well as fosters a sense of cultural identity, belonging, competence, usefulness and influence.
The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Leech Lake Area is a safe, positive, and productive place for youth to develop attitudes and skills that enable them to succeed in life- all while having fun!
