MissionMade is a Minnesota non-profit whose mission is to help other non-profit and charity partners increase their revenue and the capacity to tell their story in a new way to existing donors and new customers.
MissionMade does this by creating, purchasing/managing inventory, and fulfilling orders through the e-commerce stores we host on behalf of the non-profits we represent.
MissionMade manages each non-profit’s customized store and donates 20% of all revenue from their store back to that non-profit partner and their mission (the national average is 3%).
If you would like to know more about MissionMade, have a non-profit you think we should work with, have a product we should consider selling, or if you want to make a donation to our cause, you can visit us at MissionMade.org
This one-of-a-kind beautiful necklace was created by women involved in the Hope Again Women's Project in Rakai, Uganda. The income earned by these hard-working mothers and grandmothers allows them the ability to obtain medical care and schooling to support their children as well as orphaned children in their community.
Strips of magazines are cut into long strips, rolled around a needle, dipped in glue, hung to dry, and then strung together to make your necklace.
See color options below. Necklaces may vary from sample photos depending on available magazine colors in Uganda.
Length: Approx. 32" long
This necklace can be worn long or wrapped twice around your neck for a shorter look.
ARTIST'S STORY: These necklaces are made by the Hope Again Women's Project in Rakai, Uganda where the first case of AIDS in the world was diagnosed. The purchase of these bracelets provides income to women affected by the HIV/AIDS virus, which enables them to obtain medical care and support their children and orphans in their communities. The artisans cut recycled magazines into strips, roll them into beads, and then shellac and string them to create a beautiful necklace.
